Episode #16: Traditional Chinese Medicine for Hormonal Imbalance + Burnout
This week we had a lovely chat with Dr. Effy Germanis, Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and how we can use it as a modality to support hormonal imbalance and overcoming burnout.
We love the accessibility of this type of medicine and it's very supportive as you'll find out in this episode for those who struggle taking supplements, have acute physical symptoms, are on different medications, are pregnant or nursing and so much more. Sometimes these factors may feel limited in what we can and can't do-- so TCM fits in well in these cases.
Dr. Effy shares about what TCM is and the different organs associated with stress as well as different "deficiencies".
She talks about things like cupping and gua-sha and how we can incorporate them into our recovery protocols too.
